Can I breastfeed while using abortion pills?

You can breastfeed while having an abortion with pills [1]. Mifepristone and Misoprostol can get into the breastmilk, but the amounts are small and the medications are rapidly metabolized. Due to the small amounts that can be present, you can consider breastfeeding your infant, using Misoprostol, and then waiting 3 hours to breastfeed again. If you are using additional doses of Misoprostol, you can breastfeed, and then use the next dose. While this is an option, it is not necessary and it is your preference.
