Position: Country Consultant – USA
Location: Remote, but based in the United States (US)
Contract Term: 6 months with the possibility of extension
Salary: USD 1,500 per month. This is a part-time role at 30 hours per week.

The US is facing unprecedented threats to abortion access. Several states have signed abortion access bans into law that restrict coverage, defund reproductive healthcare providers, and place inhibitory requirements on abortion seekers.

Existing abortion care providers and helplines are overwhelmed with clients, and the spread of misinformation, particularly through social media, is rampant. As US abortion seekers search for information, support and guidance, the internet will often be their first entry point. Women First Digital (WFD) is an eHealth social enterprise that operates two safe abortion websites: howtouseabortionpill.org (HowToUse) and safe2choose.org (safe2choose). At WFD, we believe in leveraging the power digital solutions to ensure that all people, regardless of where they live, have access to inclusive, comprehensive, and quality abortion information and care.

Key features of each website include:

1. HowToUseAbortionPill.org
   • Simple, de-medicalized and step-by-step information on medical abortion up to 13 weeks, including what to consider before, during and after.
   • Country profiles offering a summarized overview of the abortion landscape in a particular country including service availability, costs, and local resources.
   • A safe abortion chatbot that abortion seekers can access via the website, Facebook and on WhatsApp.
   • Medical abortion eLearning course for all levels of health care providers.
   • A robust social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Tik Tok and Pinterest.
2. safe2choose.org
   • Comprehensive and easy-to-understand information on both medical and in clinic abortions up to 13 weeks.
   • Live chat counselling and referral services. Counsellors provide real-time guidance and support to abortion seekers and offer referrals to trusted on-the ground providers.
   • A secure abortion provider database with unique geo-location features.
   • A comprehensive FAQ section and list of abortion pill brands by country.
   • A robust social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Tik Tok and Pinterest.

Key Responsibilities:

The Country Consultant will lead US marketing and outreach efforts for the HowToUse and safe2choose websites and their related products. The scope of work is inclusive of, but not limited to:

• Research and understand existing abortion resources in the US that people rely on for information and direct support and services. This will help inform the in-country marketing strategy.
• Identify local abortion provider networks/helplines that we can register on the safe2choose provider database.
• Map out key abortion organizations we can collaborate with around integrated digital service provision, information sharing, digital campaigns, and strategic off-line events.
• Identify social media influencers, online publications, popular and niche digital spaces (Reddit, Twitch, Discord etc.), and other content creators we can partner with to increase the impact and reach of our safe abortion messaging.
• Support and collaborate with internal Communication officers, Community Manager, and Digital Strategist to create US-tailored content across various social media platforms.
• Propose ideas and strategies to grow the HowToUse and safe2choose Tik Tok accounts and reach a wider US audience. Stay up to date on the latest daily trends and propose content concepts based on what is trending.
• Coordinate with freelancers to produce content and manage the content production and delivery of their content to the HowToUse and safe2choose TikTok.
• Provide innovative ideas and solutions to promote the HowToUse’s safe abortion chatbot and the safe2choose counselling and referral services.
• Propose additional country-specific tactics that would help further WFD’ key objectives. • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Immediately availability to work 30 hours per week (part-time).
• Experience working within the safe abortion space with a strong understanding of the current US landscape.
• Familiarity with strategy building and execution based on key objective and KPIs.
• Experience in project management and working as part of a globally remote and multicultural team.
• Digital marketing and content creation enthusiast.
• You understand the importance of social media marketing and you have at least 1 year of experience producing Tik Tok content for your own personal account or other branded accounts.
• Ability to work without supervision; highly self-disciplined
• Highly organized, proactive, and innovative
• Strong writing and analysis skills
• Must have a laptop and personal phone with stable and strong internet connection
